About us

headshot 22013-03-19 18.27.51Hello, my name is Lorna Watkinson and I set up Rainbow Pottery Painting at the end of 2012.   Prior to that I worked for Procter & Gamble for nearly 20 years but my priorities changed once I had my daughter and I was looking  for something that would help me better balance my working and home life.   Pottery painting is something I love and allows me to work around my daughter’s needs.

I am passionate about pottery painting because it is such a fantastic experience, whatever your age or ability, and delivers such a sense of achievement that I want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to try it!   As someone who does not possess artistic talent I can vouch for the fact that the wonderful thing about pottery painting is that you can achieve impressive results using simple techniques.

My favourite bit at any session is when silence falls as everyone is so absorbed in their painting – yes, it even happens with 4 year olds!

Pottery Painting

Pottery painting is accessible to all, regardless of age or ability, everyone can have a go and be rightly proud of their results.

We are a mobile pottery painting company, so we come to you.   We provide high quality pottery items which have already been fired, plus paint, stencils, ideas & techniques.   You use your chosen piece of pottery to create a design, picture or message which is truly unique.  We then glaze and fire the items and return them to you.

We also provide aprons for children and table clothes.

The majority of our items are priced between £4.00 – £10.00.

We cover the whole of Northumberland and Newcastle area with our mobile pottery painting studio including: Wooler, Rothbury, Alnwick, Belford, Bambrugh, Morpeth, Alnmouth, Amble, Ashington etc.
