Lorna from Rainbow Pottery painting recently spent a week in our school working with every child – 587 children from Reception up to Year 6! Every child painted a tile in the style of an artist they had been studying.   Lorna was enthusiastic and encouraging and this enthusiasm didn’t wane once during the week, despite working with 21 separate classes!   Lorna is well prepared and professional. Everything you need, she provides – from tablecloths and aprons, to the paints and brushes. All we needed to provide was a work space.   Lorna works tirelessly to help the children create their designs, giving clear instructions, and helping when needed. The children really enjoyed working with her and learning a new skill. Nothing is too much for her – organising the visit was easy, and Lorna gave excellent advice for planning designs.   Lorna is very organized – taking 587 tiles to be glazed, checking names against the register, and returning them all sorted into classes was not an easy task!   The finished tiles are amazing and the children and teachers are so pleased with them.   I would highly recommend Lorna and Rainbow Pottery painting. The children all had a fantastic time painting their tiles, and the results are amazing. I would definitely use Rainbow Pottery Painting again.   ~ Art Coordinator, West Jesmond Primary School

The children thoroughly enjoyed the session.  All abilities were able to participate and create a tile.  The end results are fantastic! ~Year 5 Teacher, Grasmere Academy

Thank you for leading the children in the enterprise project – they have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have had an enormously valuable introduction to the business world even at this young age.   You have really inspired them! ~Head Teacher, St Robert’s First School

Lorna, from Rainbow Pottery, came into Reception class to deliver a session based on our class topic ‘The Natural World & Living Things’.   Prior to working with the children Lorna had been in touch with me go discuss what the class had already covered and what else they needed to do, she responds quickly to any questions and is flexible in her approach.   On the day, the children were shown a PowerPoint linked to the class topic, which was used for discussion with the children. They were then shown how to use the paintbrushes and paints before looking at some examples as starting points for them.   Lorna clearly explained how to draw on the tile & show an adult before painting – the end results were superb lots of ladybirds, symmetrical butterflies, caterpillars and a frog!   For the children who were unsure about drawing independently stencils were available to get them started – this was a lovely idea.   Lorna is well prepared, professional and always enthusiastic about the children (& adults) she is working with and the painted pottery they produce, the glazed end results look fantastic and the children were very proud of their work.   Thank you Lorna, I am looking forward to working with you again in school. ~Deputy Head, Coquet Park First School

Lorna has been so helpful and enthusiastic about our Stone Age topic.   She suggested activity ideas and came to school well prepared and very organised.   She has a lovely calm manner with the children and helps to support all abilities.  I would absolutely recommend her! ~Year 3 teacher, Byker Primary School

I cannot fault the service.  Nothing has been too much trouble.  Both the bowls and vase are fabulous. I was particularly impressed at how resources were left for my absent child to do their bowl – such a simple kind act but meant the world to the child! ~Year 4 teacher, Grange View C of E First School
